our mini spring break

Finals week ended on April 24th, and you know Sky was taking a test until about midnight that night--the last possible minute. (And yes the testing center closes at 10 pm, but they kept it open due to a crazy long line!) The next morning (Thursday), we were off to California to visit Sky's family in Murrieta.

 On Thursday we took the girls to go play with some little piggies at a neighbors house. It was an AMAZING home and it was fun to play outside and hold the baby pigs.

Then on Saturday we played outside and laid out by the pool.

That night we headed to San Diego to go to the Giants vs. Padres game. Before the game we went to a little burger joint in downtown San Diego. So good. And the burgers were HUGE. I took a picture of Sky taking a bite of his burger, so he took a picture of me. Pretty sure my bite was wayyy bigger. Winning.

We got to the stadium right as the game was starting. The Ridley's are all Giants fans and since I was pretty impartial towards these two teams, I rooted for the Giants too :)

The next day was a relaxing Sunday. Church, yummy food, and hanging out in the nice weather.

Later that night Sky pulled out a big box full of his elementary school yearbooks, projects, etc. I found this little book titled "Skyler's Fifth Grade Memories". There were pictures, drawings, and writing prompts. The prompt below was meant to be all about the worst thing about 5th grade. And here is what Sky wrote...

SO funny. I am still not sure if Skyler wrote this in fifth grade of elementary school or his senior year of college... because I am pretty sure I hear these SAME complaints all the time! "I just want one day without homework." Haha. Love you babe!

All in all, our weekend was a success and we had a great time. We love visiting California and wish it could be more often!!
