lover's day

Here's how our V-day went (I don't have long to write this, so this will be quick)...

When I got home from work, all the lights were off, a few candles lit, and music playing. I followed the music into our room (don't worry this is rated G), and there was my husband with a bouquet of roses, my favorite Hershey's cookies and cream candy bar, mint oreo's, and.... TAYLOR SWIFT TICKETS!!!!!! I may or may not have shed a couple tears. We were planning on getting tickets a few months back, but Skyler failed to get them in time due to football practice or something like that. I was pretty sad. BUT, he came through by buying tickets from our good friends who could no longer go. I had NO idea, so I was ecstatic when I saw them next to my oreo's :)

A pic of T-Swift. In case you didn't know what she looks like ;)

We then headed off to The Indian Palace, one of our FAVORITE restaurants--we highly recommend it. The food was great, but the place was packed. We were seated within 20 minutes, but once they took our order, we didn't get our food for an hour! We had tickets to a movie, so when we finally got our food, we ate it in less than 5 minutes, packed the rest in boxes, got the check, and ran to the car.

We barely made the movie in time... Safe Haven. I'm obsessed. Totally loved it. The best Nicholas Sparks movie there is--aside from The Notebook of course. I wanted to watch it again as soon as it was over!

Then, for Skyler's gift, we went to Dicks Sporting Goods to get him a basketball. Oh... my goodness. Lets just say that Skyler will NEVER be able to tease me for taking a long time shopping. We were there FOREVER... looking at every single basketball, feeling the "grip", dribbling it around, seeing which one had deeper "grooves", etc. I almost fell asleep. You'd think we were making a $500 purchase. Finally, in the end, we decided on a Spalding (one of 10 different kinds), and called it good. I also got him a biography on Abraham Lincoln (random I know--but Sky's been obsessed with him since we saw Lincoln).

All in all, it was a great Valentines day, and I love my eternal valentine :)
